99,300ppm lead Garfield cup
99,300ppm lead Garfield cup
After reading about this I wanna cry
It does seem like people like Just Stop Oil are just pissing in the wind with facts like these!
How is ur first reaction to this video a fucking Garfield cup
I had that cup as a kid. I got it when I was 12 and it was my favorite cup for years. It's still in storage with the rest of my childhood things, and now I'm really glad I didn't pass it down to my daughter.
Waltuh… put your Garfield cup away Waltuh
I have the whole collection :)
Oh yeah I drank out of a few of these for years as a kid -_-
Is this a worldwide problem or mostly America? We have similar glasses at my grandmothers in Belgium
Not anymore but in 1978 McDonald's sold Garfield cups that had an extremely high amount of lead in its paint along with cadmium which causes cancer
Microplastics 😋
mmmm yumy
For fucks sake, someone needs to start killing CEOs. Greedy bastards are killing us all
I’d say no, but that’s exactly what powerful people want others to believe: to be docile and depressed so they won’t question those in power and that attacking the CEOs is the “evil” thing to do.
His name was Robert Paulson
His name was Robert Paulson
His name was Robert Paulson
His name was Robert Paulson
Yeah man I’d much rather live like the Amish and feel good about the world that we are setting up for future generations than pile on to the dog shit that we have made of this planet
I completely fucking agree…
YES!!! That “eat the rich” bullshit always got to me bc nah, I’m not hungry… I am angry.
Of course, using the verb I want to use might land me in hot water so I guess that’s where the “eat” part came in as a substitute
I think there’s a happy natural medium where we can still have luxuries like deodorant though lol
Actually you’d have to kill almost everyone cause almost every company answers to shareholders
We need Johnny Silverhand
I'm surprised that even though there are so much proofs last 2years only a small column of newspaper is allocated and news channels are focused elsewhere and politicians and environmental ministers don't seem to bother anyways. This is something we are gonna live with and me being an India cancer and diabetes are now so common here.
You only blame media and politicians but the average person doesn’t give a shit about this either. It’s a problem with our entire species, not just our leaders
Fuck you, it’s our leaders.
It’s both. But definitely more our leaders’ fault
but you know, it has to start somewhere. leaders are leaders for a reason and you can’t just put responsibility on every single random persons shoulders and expect them to fix the world
I'm not going to go so far as to disagree with you, but it's more nuanced than that. The average consumer is really just a part of the system with no real choice to combat this.
Have you ever tried living a zero waste lifestyle, or giving up a car and doing everything by bicycle/walking/transit in the US? It's next to impossible unless you're in just the right perfect circumstances.
When industries become as concentrated and monopolized as they are today, voting with your dollar becomes worthless because the more "environmentally friendly" option is often made by the same company that produces the trash.
We rely on our leaders to address issues and institute the changes we want to see in society because that's their job. We're too busy with our own jobs to provide the level of activism it would take to do this. That's supposed to be why we live in a society. If they won't institute change because they're being paid not to, then it's their fault.
The means of productions are in the hands of the elite with goals of maximizing profits. Capitalist economy is built on the concept of commodities. Education is a luxury. There's no way to kickstart a movement against this without a shift that will shake the imperial core. The movement will trickle down and the effects and overall shift will be relative to the implication put into the change. We may just drive plastic to poor people land, or we may suffice the tradeoff implied by a change to them somehow. This change can be achieved even in our broken system as one bandaid fix in the stack, but we're unaware of what direction we will really take due to volatile times in which opportunity for many alternative directions is nothing like before.
Nobody especially not these big corporations will do anything for you. Their CSR department is only there so that they'll donate $50 dollars to a homeless on a Saturday. That's what they do. It's upto you
That's why I've started consuming beverages/food/snacks which come in Glass, Aluminium or packed in Steel. I also replaced my plastic drinking water bottle. Do it from a steel one now. You've to make the changes in your life yourself
FYI Some Aluminum beverage/soda cans have a thin plastic coating inside. So you are drinking out of a plastic bag inside of an aluminum can. The aluminum just provides structure to the thin plastic layer.
Everyday I’m shufflin’
Everyday we're suffering.
PARTYY ROOOCK ISSSS IN THE HOOOOUUUUSE TOOOOOOONIIIIGHT, EVERYBODDY JUST HAVVIIINA GOOOOOD TIMMMMEEE

Sounds like a you problem lol
me who used the pause button.
Same lol
*many
Yeahhhh that's part of the joke
Well that was a huge amount of dread that was just spewed onto me
Well there are studies to prove this, people talk about global warming and genders and shit when most people haven't heard of this massive problem.
But as 2 black fellows say - "It is what it is"
It is not what it is. How am I going to game, browse reddit, commit acts of Tom-foolery, maybe even a little bit of trolling, if I get a fucking brain tumor because some twink plastics decided to invade my personal space and bonk some cells in my brain?
"Global warming and other shit" The largest river in China has dried up The Mississipi river which accounts for 78%+ global grain and soybean exported has receded so much barges cannot fross it now, the level being "lower than it has been in 70 years." It was the 8 hottest years every recorded so far Billions of crabs have perished, warmer waters likely being the cause Ice sheets melting crossing irreversible tipping points and feedback loops Just a few problems of global warming that seems of less importance to you. Does it still seem so insignificant as fucking 'genders' and 'identity'?
Yes, I like myself more than animals which are already reproducing in massive quantities. If people carred the Euphrates would be drying because of dams, etc.
You seem to have no idea just how significantly the extinction of a single species can affect seemingly disparate organisms. Ecosystem balance is something on which we rely for our very survival. You will very much be affected by extinctions resulting from climate change, even if they occur on the other side of the planet.
Are you braindead?
What do you mean by global warming and shit? Don't you think that's big fucking problem too?
a false dichotomy is pretty common in terms of different human fuck-ups. It's either get rid of micro-plastics or divert global warming. Why can't we do both?
The great filter
This could actually be it
Horror
Nice. Time to go look at memes in order to ignore the horrors of existence
I’ve found that drugs can be very helpful paired along side with quality memes
I do both
Uhh actually humans don't have cell walls, only plants have cell walls.
Hashtag pwned
they probably meant cell membranes
You don't fucking say
woah chill
Can’t wait for the guy that says all this is incorrect so I can feel better 😔
Get used to waiting pal
Face the truth
Don’t worry the plastic companies will hire someone to spread a false narrative just like tobacco and oil companies did
Sadly that guy will be Trump!
Ah sweet, man-made horrors beyond my comprehension

nothing else has worked, so why not?

screw microplastics! im eating MACROplastics!
We are fucked as a species can't wait to be dead.
Idc what they saying i care about the guy dancing in the background and hes vibing
Oh you'll be caring soon enough
What does that even mean??
Just dont have kids people, adopt if you really want to, but damn i just cant handle the though of bringing life into how fucked everything is right now.
I've never understood the concept of intentionally having a blood relation child.
Bringing new life into the world is a special occasion, but recognize there are plenty of existing young lives that need the love you desire to provide.
Will you love your child unconditionally? If no: Think of the damage that could occur from the absence of your love. If yes: Then it shouldn't matter if you find out they have different blood/genes.
Would you stop loving the child you raised if you found out there was a mixup at the nursery? If yes: Think of how many Days/Months/Years/Decades of love-bonding with your child you are willing to abandon over a DNA test. If no: Then blood relation is insignificant, so adopt.
Having an adopted child is of little difference. The main difference is that parents who adopt are often rescuing a young life.
If 1 of your 2 options is to save a life and you chose the other option you effectively assisted in endangering that life.
Save an existing child's life with your love Or. Continue that child's suffering.
Ha, micro plastics? Try black lung for me.
Well at last when everthing go to shit i'm gonna be dead
That’s the mentality the elderly today have. Way to keep the cycle going! Fuck the future! Fuck the children! Woooo
Actually yes the problem it's that all who have that idea don't help in anything or Even contaminate more
Stfu let me eat my burmger in peace
This genuinely depresses me…
Like they are in your blood
they are in your heart
they are in your lungs
they are in your brain
they are everywhere
Yeah…wanna start a revolution?
Will revolution remove all the microplastics trapped inside your body?
Nah but it’ll make me feel better and stop further production if successful 😁
Anyone know the music?

Fuck you i clicked

“We are so fucked”
Suddenly gretta thurngurgs speech doesnt seem as crazy as peoplw think.

Petition to ban every single Rick video ?? Anyone?!
you really think I'm going to fall for that? you never trust a link after asking the name of the song, it's always either a Rick roll or darude sandstorm
Don't act like u dint click it
somebody already called it out before I had any chance 😂
Fine just don't watch my vids then
I don't know that's pretty SketchBook
nah
We have all fuck ourselves
It’s all good, most species of life will adapt. Those that don’t adapt will be laid to rest by nature herself.
And if were not one of those?
Then we die, simple as that.
Nature: BUH BYEEE <3
That would be true, except these changes are happening on a human time scale, not an evolutionary time scale. Major changes to the environment in short time scales are what cause extinction events.
Solid point I forgot about that lmao

Hey that’s great tho
Ok cool
mmmm tasty microplastics
😃
I used glass bottles and ceramic and glass plates for a reason. It still isn't enough. Just clearing out a single toy drawer is a measure of massive plastic waste.
Cool dance tho
I need sources to learn more from. Do you have sauce?
I got lost in the sauce and I can't find my way back
Yo where my fellow 3D printer owners at!? At least we know exactly where our micro plastic comes from!

One thing many of those plastics do is breakdown into chemicals that act like estrogen in the human body. Make sperm count and fertility with it has cratered globally in the last century without any real explanation and without any relation whatsoever to how developed a given area is.
I believe we are unintentionally chemically castrating the male population of the entire planet by poisoning them with a steady dose of estrogen like chemicals resulting from plastics we ingest and inhale. If we continue on the current path, make sperm count may fall so low than traditional procreation becomes functionally inoperable as a means of perpetuating the species.
We can complain about this or that known consequence all we want like it is the end of the world, but this really could be a species level threat if these plastics and what they decompose into are responsible for the drop in sperm levels from a century ago.
Just take testosterone pills or something
I dont have enough time to read
MICROPLASTICS😋😋😋😋😋😋😍😋😍😍😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
"So, what does this have to do with FNaF you ask"
I blame the filthy rich, not that i know anything, i just blame em cause they’re filthy rich
Wish hemp was more widely used instead of plastic
this is the great filter
Yeah I was wondering if this is a problem every potential civilization deals with
every population will discover plastics due to how easy it is to make and how convenient it is. and all civilizations accidentaly poison and sterilize themselves, causing their own extinction.
I mean, this assumes their biochemistry is that similar to us, but microplastics would probably be harmful to any species
Guess I’ll just die then.
Why bust a move if you can bust the system?
We all die one day.
Having such a hard time watching the moves while trying to read the caption
Should've played "Plastic Love" in the background.
I'm just gonna ignore the actual message which is clearly a good one and focus on the video.
Who in the fuck thought it was a good idea to put white letters against a black background with text that is scrolling on a quick reading pace even without factoring in the difficult color scheme and the human blob in the background?!?
Microplastics bad. Anything the video added was lost.
Yes. I'm fun at parties.
You can’t read very fast can you
Well uhm.......uhm....he's dancing which is a good thing so....everything just fine hehehe
No sources :(
It's goes great with the Teflon already in your blood stream
sadness aside this song was lit. Anyone know it?
Friendly reminder that plastic is created from oil. That's why it's pushed on you so much as some incidental component of what you're buying, like the bag, packaging, and things that come with the item you're trying to buy. They push responsibility for disposing of their trash by-product on the consumer so they can dodge the blame of the pollution.

What's the Name of this song?
Y’all should watch Crimes of the Future (2022) by David Cronenberg
And plastic? Invented by the Nazis
u/savevideo
Capitalism is the cause of all these problems

We did it ladies and gents. We're going down!
whats the song name
If it helps, life will live on. Eventually animals will adapt and evolve. Even if others face extinction. Humans will be just an extinction event in Earth's long history. Nobody said having microplastics in our body means certain death right? It's bad but not the end of the world, right? Everybody's gotta die of something. And all the kids I see look healthy. This is just fearmongering, don't be afraid

Plastic is becoming more of problem then lead once was
Except our entire infrastructure is built on plastic
Our infrastructure was once built on Lead.
Sure, no where near as much as Plastics nowadays, but we managed to cut it out as much as possible. Reducing plastic use wherever possible is a very slow but sure start on cutting them out too.
It'll never be enough; greed is what brought us here and it's not going away.
Welcome to lobbying, where people just buy their laws to benefit themselves.
The funny thing is the people who own these companies or the boards that make these decisions and fund these lobbyist are also breathing in and injecting this shit. The oil companies live on the planet. Plastic producers live on the planet.
I’m reminded of a famous environmental journalist who was asked to meet with a group of very wealthy dudes in California. He was paid for the meeting. He expected to just be talking about climate change and how it’s going to effect the earth etc etc but the conversations eventually got to what these people really wanted to know— where is the best place to hide your bunker in the USA? How do I keep my guards loyal? Etc.
And it was just astonishing to him that these people were directly causing the situation in which a bunker would be necessary to make money— which will be useless by that time.
The irony was lost upon those rich dudes.
You know that environmentalist activist groups are also lobbying lawmakers to try and help the plastic epidemic
lobbying has existed since the beginning of Congress and the founding of the constitution
Almost every single good piece of legislation was started by lobbyists
Those environmentalist groups have way less money to influence politicians than the global oil corporations. Many many good pieces of legislation die early on because the corporate lobbyists simply have more power. This is why real environmental change is absurdly slow even though scientists have been yelling about it for decades, why minimum wage has stagnated, why labor laws are archaic, why the IRS just can't send us a summary of our taxes, why our Healthcare system is so absurdly expensive, you get the idea.
https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-echochambers-27074746 They dont have much power compared to the elites.
I would just cancel it alltogether, dont give a f. if everything falls apart, we need to get rid if this system, capitalism doesnt fucking work
The obvious solution is to ban single-use plastics, and heavily tax other plastics. Innovation will make biodegradable plastic-like materials cheaper and easier to make.
Of course politicians will never do that because voters don't want to be temporarily inconvenienced for a better future.
Example, pretty sure I read about a company moving to a recyclable crisp packet, but consumers complained the rustling was too loud, so back to polluting the environment I guess.
But on the other side we have bio degradable plastic
Which is why I’ve switched back to lead. I mean the danger you know, am I right?
Lead is still a major problem. it's a neuro toxin at any level. it causes learning disabilities and reduces impulse controll.
We can recognize 2 problems at once and not do shit about either.
