If you can have a dog that you canât control that easily, then it doesnât matter how it was raised. They are made for killing and they do exactly that.

i have a pitbull, not technically mine, but my stepdad's. she's the cutest thing ever, extremely well behaved and basically never barks.
whenever they play together though i am quickly reminded that she is in fact, a pitbull. and a very big one at that. she once, years ago, bit a (much, obviously) smaller yorkshire and simply wouldnt let go. it didnt die because my stepdad came in to save it. she also attacked one of my dogs the first time she came here, so we always keep them separated from eachother.
when i heard that story for the first time it made me unironically start to feel uneasy around her. i had never thought about it that way. she wouldn't do anything to me, but... she's still a pitbull. even if extremely unlikely she definitely could jump me if something were wrong with her.

Horrifying to me, all my life I've been around 3 generations of my dad's pitbulls. Aggressive yes, but to me, they're so wholesome some times. Conflict is that my dad trained them to defend and fight. Only one pitbull remains, now that his mother is gone he seems less aggressive but I know that one little nudge can send him after my life. The existence of pitbulls is a tragedy, to them, and to those around them.

Yeah they are factual, it doesn't mean that pitbulls are monsters, there's many factors that can contribute to pitbulls being number 1, genetics, training, are pitbulls more prevalent in poorer areas etc. Don't for a second believe any stories though, people love to lie especially when they will get upvotes. Pitbulls are just dogs and with any dog you should take precautions appropriate for every situation, that doesn't mean it'll rip your face off for looking at it funny.

I used to walk my neighbours pitbull and he was the cutest hunk of muscle ever. Just the sweetest thing. But one day we went to the dog park, and apparently this 8 month old puppy just rubbed him the wrong way, because he went straight for his neck out of nowhere. Eh, I own a pit. My family has a long line of owning strays and just big rowdy dogs in general. It's alot more just dumbasses that see "adorable pitty puppy hippo photo" and don't even bother to look up the right way to raise them and think it's the same as a retriever. You just gotta be firm and strong with them for the most part, no muzzles or shit because if they were a rescue it'll most likely bring back abusive memories and get another headline written.
They're loving for the most part. Pretty damn lazy but they're chill. Mine just sleeps around the house all day and my neighbor's pit also just chills in the backyard sunbathing. Other than that she's usually happy to see me, and just walks up to me and wags her tail and circles me begging for pets. She used to jump up on me alot but she learned not to after I fell one time.
Also they ain't nanny dogs. No dog is. Yeah sure they can be gentle with kids but little kids don't know when they're being annoying and it can agitate or annoy dogs, not just pits. You never see a video with a baby unsupervised near ANY dog, for good reason. Big dogs, even if they playing, can just obliterate babies. Pits are just more protective of their owners. More like a "bouncer dog" than anything.
Hell, any post I see with a human on r/pitbulls shows them being atleast SOMEWHAT burly. And the thin skinny ones know how to train their digs really damn well. Not saying you should use force all the time but it's useful for alot of moments. Definitely no chains though. That's just evil regardless. A good ol harness and comfy collar work well.
