Inspired by Heavy Metal (1981)?
Its literally a cover from Heavy Metal mag. My brother has them all framed...
Manowar more like Womanowar
This is very DIO, really great
Nice work! I’m getting a 70s/80s fantasy paperback thing here, with whiffs of artists like Rowena Morrill, Carl Lundgren, Douglas Beekman, Richard Hescox, etc.
Late comment but you must be deep into your fantasy art that you didn't just say "Frazetta" or "Boris" and call it a day I like I would have hahaha. Gonna have to look these up.
I'm an artist and back in the day I drew/painted a TON of cover painting copies from the hundreds of sci-fi/fantasy books I read. I always took note of the cover artists and preferred some of them over others. Those are some of the ones I liked that didn't get really famous.
That rocks. I'm an artist as well, this style of art is my jam for sure. It's been good to see in the past few years old school fantasy art stuff making a bit of a comeback. I'd be interested to see your stuff if you have it posted up anywhere and you care to share
Unfortunately, the site that I used to have it on (Tabblo) closed down like a decade ago and I never put the stuff elsewhere.
Would buy this based on the cover alone.
I appreciate the meeting of iron and maiden
I just love this style of art
One of the few good ones I've seen on the sub
Drop shadow on the “Heavy Assault” kinda ruins it a bit
walter
Oh I love this
hair metal
This is 100% a power metal album
Agreed. The previous one I did was more Glam and the first one I did for this band I'd say was more NWOBHM.
I can hear the falsetto now.
