Wait laying down on a grenade actually lowers blast radius?
The game has pretty realistic fragmentation so yes it reduces it greatly normally a frag clears out a 5 by 5 area around it lmao.
Source have laid my self on grenades and seen people do it and have survived the blast from kill distance.
The rdg-5 hand grenade in the video has a kill radius of around 3 metres (9.8 ft) and a wounding radius of 25 meters (82 ft). Beyond 15 to 20 meters (49 to 65ft) from the grenade the ~350 something fragments will start to spread out enough for someone to be able to escape unharmed. Beyond 30 m (98ft) it's gonna be like getting hit by pebbles from someone doing a burnout on gravel.

Very much so yes. The deflagration will still stun the others in the room causing dossorientation, temporary deafness and probably some long term hearing loss and some fragments can still injure the others but much less than if it blew up normally. So the others would still be alive to keep fighting.
The goal here is to stop the fragments. So a strong man with his military kit lying with the grenade in the middle of the chest can save the life of the other soldiers. (Although they probably will be traumatised for life if they survive the fight).
This may not be effective for one of those skinny African soldiers wearing rags. Still better than nothing but it won't do much.
This is last resort solution though. If you can run into another room it's better, if it lands close to someone and was thrown from nearby you can throw it back. If the room is large enough sprint and dive. But lying on it does work. And it's instant painless death.

Game is Squad, it's a military simulation game with insane details and features. Be warned that 15% of the game is insane firefights that you will remember for years and 85% is walking for 20 minutes to get lit up by a bushman 500m away and then waiting 3 minutes to respawn and do it all again. Buy a mic, download the game. Try to find a good server, and have fun.

50 bucks on steam. If you're into sim fps then it's more than worth it's cost. I have over 1k hours and still pick it up a couple times a week.
Every time there a big update I get sucked back in. Its very well made.

It's a Milsim game that requires a lot of teamwork and communication, but if you get on a good server where both teams are trying their hardest, you will get some of the most dynamic and interesting experiences from a first person shooter you've ever had.

Nope! PC only. There are far too many systems in place (as in keys that need to be pressed) for it to work on console. There is local voice chat, squad voice chat, and command voice chat, all which require different buttons to press. Then there is map markers and other UI elements that basically require a mouse to use.
I also think, with the prominent use of console party chats and just a lack of games like this in general, that actually getting a group of 50 (its 50v50) players on console to work together would be.... a nightmare. This ain't battlefield. Your spawns, bases, and resources are dependent on your team setting them up and working together and from my experience, even pc gamers have a hard time making that all happen cohesively.
However, if you ARE looking for a milsim game to play on console that still requires mass teamwork and takes place on large battlefields, I would suggest looking at Hell Let Loose. It is a WW2 shooter but is also incredibly immersive. I can't speak for the community on console, but it's a pretty solid game that shares a few mechanics with Squad... And if you're into a more "Milsim" shooter that takes place in the modern era but doesn't require teamwork as much, I'd suggest Insurgency:Sandstorm

Nope, but it goes on sale a lot and also has some free weekends every now and then (which are pure chaos and not quite representative of the community at large since the game gets flooded by noobs) and it goes on sale when it does that
