You must be kidding, US sanctions on their own have killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children in the 90s, in order to try and destabilize the rule of a dictator whom the US installed in the first place. The entire Ukraine Russia war has killed less people so far than Iraqi children the US has killed with the stroke of a pen. The US secretary of state at the time, Madeleine Albright, said in an interview the deaths of those children was "worth it".

Like i said, Sanctions wouldn't kill anyone in a well run country, so that's not the US's fault, it's saddams inability to run a functioning country and not be a mass murderer (not in some esoteric reaching was like sanctions but in actual poison gas attacks against his own people)

The secretary of state seemed to think it was true and said it was worth it. That's one of the most powerful positions on the planet. We know from internal documents that the purpose of sanctions in general is to make regular people suffer so they'll revolt against their government. Children dying means the sanctions were a success.

And furthermore Saddam was installed by the US in the first place, so the US is responsible for his incompetence and murders too. They could have just left Iraq alone and there'd be no Saddam the dictator.

I 100% denounce the genocide of Muslims by the Chinese government. It's a serious crime against humanity. I'm just saying if you tally up the crimes of these states the US is in a class of it's own, you don't seem to realize just how many genocides the US has enabled. Just point to any South American country and you can almost certainly find evidence of a genocide enabled and actively helped along by the US.

The fact is, sanctions are to pressure leaders to do the right thing, not to punish the citizenry. If Saddam had acted like a leader he would have been able to get the sanctions lifted but he refused.

Second point i really don't think you understand what genocide is. The US definitely had it's hands in some dirty dealings in South America, and we have to own up to that, but genocide? for real? Which individual group of South Americans did the US actively attempt extermination? You mean like guerrilas or something? We definitely propped up dictators in the past but I'm gonna need some examples of attempted murder of entire ethnic groups

Edit: as a side note, the fate of the Native American people in the US was 100% a genocide, along with the enslavement of Africans as a crime against humanity. Hell i'll even say the horrible segregation and jim crowe laws count as the same, but it's been close to 50 years since those. 40 years since the drugs to inner cities for money to fight proxy wars.
