Beautiful work. A project like this is out of the box enough that I’d love an update in a few months as to its effectiveness, any issues you encounter with moisture, and, since you already mentioned swapping out the toothpaste can, any changes you decide to make.
I love everything except that metal ribbed can. It makes that one part look cheap. I would replace it with one of those rolling toothpaste holders that squeezes the tube.

So the 3/8 was the cleats? And you just did the standard 45 degree angle bevel with them? They look nice that shallow, I'm so used to seeing 3/4 these look sharp.
yep, 3/8 for the cleats and 45 degrees. I also sanded the "pointed" edge off of the attachments so they would fully seat down in the crevice.
I really like that but i can't make up my mind about the soup can toothpaste holder lol.

Also, bathrooms get coated in lint from things like toilet paper and towels. I would think the cleate would be tough to clean.

Honestly I think I might rip the stupid mirror medicine cabinet out and replace it with something like this. More interesting and unique, if dustier. I'm a fan of the exposed gear look. I've got open Ikea shelves in the kitchen for storage (gives it a fancier store shelves kind of look). Afterall, marketing companies spend tons of money making their products look appealing, why hide that? That goes 2x for booze and cigars.
Also, I did a tie/sock rack in my bedroom. A variation on the theme below. Why own such pretty ties/socks and not show them off? Kindof gives a Brooks Brothers/upscale men's store look while being more functional.

What if instead you just did a medicine cabinet? It would be the same depth if not slightly less. It would also hide all of the items so they don't get as dusty. Plus you wouldn't run the risk of knocking your tooth brush off of there.

yep! I just used my table saw. I ripped 2" strips of pine in half at 45° which was a little sketchy pushing through being so close to the fence. I'd make sure you have a good push block and practice your movements before your first cut if you do the same
No table saw due to space limitations (working on my apartment balcony) but my circular saw can turn to 45*, and with enough clamps anything is possible!
