It's by no means bad. It just takes a unique twist on the superhero genre. The movie is almost completely devoid of any comedy (ironic for a movie about a clown) and instead focuses on the mental deterioration of a broken man while also giving some social commentary. Very interesting movie, definitely would recommend watching, just don't expect it to be a fast-paced action-comedy that superhero movies are basically synonymous with now.
Just watch the King of comedy. It's basiclaly the same movie. Except the King of comedy came first and is better.
Itās good but it suffers from the American Psycho/Fight Club issue where if someone says āI really liked this movie,ā you arenāt immediately sure if itās because they like good movies with social commentary, or missed the social commentary and think the unhinged protagonist is their idol.

I used to watch those geezers for some fucking reason. They seem to actually believe that you can judge movies and games objectively. They do this shit regularly and clown on people for their opinions not falling in line with what they see as the 'objectively right' opinion.
I don't think I need to mention this, but media and all other forms of art are completely subjective. Different people value different things more than others and emotional response differs from person to person. You can't measure a piece of art's effect because you can't measure emotion.
They seem to think that their opinions are superior to others just because they can back them up with more waffle.

You can judge media objectively though . For example a bug in a video game is literally an objective mistake itās something that the dev didnāt purposely code into their game . A plot hole is also an objective mistake in any type of narrative itās a mistake the author can make when tackling plot points. Iām not familiar with their arguments, I donāt really watch them so maybe their arguments are different. But itās pretty silly to say you canāt review media objectively.
Good point. It's true that you can objectively measure a plots consistency or a video game's bugs, but coming to an objective conclusion on the quality of the game based on these is still not possible as there are many factors that can't be measured.
For example, joker could have the most consistent plot ever, but people's enjoyment and emotional investment to it will differ, so there is no way to objectively disprove a negative opinion of it.
As far as I remember, efap go over plot inconsistencies a lot and don't seem to see emotions as relevant to the conversation. That's why I strongly disagree with them calling anything objectively good, because all that really means is that there are no mistakes in the movie. This doesn't really say much about why people actually like it.

I will say, they do often rip on movies that have a lot of plot inconsistencies. But they will admit when they enjoy a movie despite its flaws, then tear those flaws to pieces over 8 hours of video.
