If hytale is as good it shows ,maybe I left minecraft too because I can already see that most companies are doing their best for high quality content while minecraft is still stuck and its even getting worse. I don't mean minecraft has low quality content ,but I mean as a famous company being under control by microsoft, they should have better and bigger updates and have good relationship with community.
To be fair, there is absolutely nothing Microsoft can do that will ever ruin Java Minecraft.
Java players will always be able to control their own destinies. Content is already being released for the game before it is officially released, bedrock features like movable entities is easily added to java via mods. Microsoft enables chat bans, within hours Java players have mods that disable them.
Java is where minecrafters go to thrive and have creative freedom.
Bedrock is where microsoft waits in a bright colored van with a trail of minecoins and skins leading to it.
My thoughts exactly. Microsoft preys on the bedrock audience because they know most of them are kids with no understanding of consumer rights and business ethics. They are perfect consumers because if their parents are willing to buy them a console they'll also be willing to buy them minecoins no questions asked, buy skins for them and maps and all the poorly hashed out paid "mods" and DLC they want because either they have no other option (consoles) or they don't know free alternatives exist (bedrock on pc)

Bedrock edition man. Java edition has remained relatively pure and hopefully never gets a "marketplace".
I can confirm that Marketplace ruined MCPE map making forever, almost no one downloads anything not from the market place and it sucks because so much of the low effort ripoff content there can be obtained for free on sites like MCPEDL (which is stepping up their standards btw) or made on their own.
If it does, it is likely just going underground and there probably isn't a lot Mojang can do.
It wont or at least it wont make money because modding java and adding your own skins as well as maps is easier and if you need to just go to older versions if the game
Im just gonna knock on wood for ya. Lol
They'd be stupid not to have DLC.
I honestly have no clue what it is but if I had to guess it's a bunch of 'packs' with some custom skins, texture packs and adventure maps/stuff similar to that. Things kids would go crazy for but are essentially just paid for mods made by Mojang.
It's exactly this, and it's stupid, because on Java you have easy access to all of this in seconds, and can create your own, for free
You can use your own skin om bedrock tho, just many people dont know how.
Yeah you can, but i heard its hard to do, somethink with connecting your console and computer. While on Java you just upload a .png to Minecraft and you have a skin.
Maybe on consoles but on mobile or pc its easy af
Most of the time when people play bedrock, it's on console. if you can play on computer, there's no reason to choose bedrock over Java. i'm alost sure the only version available for mobile is Pocket, not Bedrock
On mobile its bedrock, they killed pocket pretty long time ago. I am a mobile player and i can say only reason you can choose bedrock over Java is "patato pc", wanna play with your friend who is on mobile or console, you can not afford java but can afford bedrock.
Pocket became bedrock actually, console edition got killed and replaced with bedrock (but that info isnt rly important lol)
pocket IS bedrock "Bedrock refers to any current non-Java Edition of the game" as stated in differences between java and bedrock
Also may I add bedrock allows for free online play as opposed to a realm or server (while technically you could make one for free its not easy) and cross play those are the only reasons I play bedrock on pc
Joining any server is free, creating your own literally takes 5 minutes with a free site
sites with free servers? Never heard of O N E, although Id be very happy to learn of one.
Ok, first two sites for creating free servers that come to mind, one of which i use myself, aternos.org and server.pro
Ok thx I honestly didnt know there were free ones
Yeah but Mojang understands that most kids don't have the technical aptitude to do stuff like that... and are more likely to own a console.
They know damn well that the vast majority of users over the age of 12-14 are not buying that DLC but luckily for them them there are unlimited amount of kids out there.
They'll always make their money. And yeah it's fucking scummy selling to kids but it's been a thing since... well, as soon as humans were able to put ink to paper. The kid wants something, and the parents buy it. They're effectively selling to children.
Problem is that you can also do that in bedrock
basically everything that kids could be creating in art class, is a paid dlc on bedrock. Skins are hard to get on your account on bedrock for free, its a convoluted process that you essentially need a pc in order to pull off. So there is a store that sells skins and maps... basically everything that is readily available for free or able to be created on java.
Worse than DLC, microtransactions.
The only praise I have for bedrock is the performance. It runs soo much better than java on older machines and machines without dedicated video cards.
That’s only because it’s written in C++, which is much faster than Java.
Yeah, exactly. Much better performance.
Also not single threaded
That's not completely true... depends what you're trying to do.
In this case, yes.
We’ll it’s been a good 500000000000000000000 seconds and 100000000000000000000000000000 hours and 90000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Minutes hope all of you enjoyed it as much as I did…
As a ps4 player I couldn't agree more
I love bedrock. Plus my kid will grind out shit for free. He’s the p2w nightmare that keeps companies up at night.
i have mods on my xbox minecraft
paid "mods" from the marketplace or real mods. because if you're the latter and modified your console you're a very very small minority. not everyone has the knowhow on how to do that without bricking their console.
i do agree that its sad what they did to minecraft bedrock. its a classic big corporation.
real mods, like hardcore and gun mod
Even then you can still mod console for free. It's a hassle, but a friend and I have a wave style zombie elimination where the survivors can either work together or compete against each other

This moderation is being pushed to Java as well.
Modders are already working on disabling it
Exactly. As I said there already exist those mods, and more of them are being released by the hour.
Mods for servers and clients both.
I mean they could merge the versions like they did with Pocket Edition, Legacy Console Edition, and Windows 10 Edition (Bedrock) but I doubt they'd do that anytime soon, Java Edition still has to many advantages over Bedrock for that to be a good decision in their eyes like merging the Console, Mobile, and Windows 10 versions was
Yeah plus I think the main reason they haven't is because of how different the versions are. All of those other versions were built using very similar and transferable code, while java just isn't that way. Java is kind of the "ugly duckling" of game programming codes. It doesn't fit in and doesn't play well with others. That is why in the Java version there are quirky bugs (not that there aren't some of those in bedrock) like "quasi-connectivity" in blocks. Also java not being able to natively support item entity pushing of chests etc.
That's fair, I'm not really into the code world so I forgot that Java is a drastically different platform than what the Pocket, Windows 10, and Legacy Console Editions were. I've got a feeling it'll happen at some point in a similar way to the Console, Pocket, and Windows 10 versions being merged into Bedrock which was a separate version just not anytime soon, they'd need to somehow port those bugs that are basically features like Quasi-Connectivity from Java to Bedrock and get the features people like such as Amplified and mad capability over as well before we get a merging of the two
This is just not true. Java is a perfectly fine and fast programming language like any other. Good code is good code in any language. You can’t blame the language for mistakes that human programmers made.
Definitely true. You'd think that given how many people meme "Java > Bedrock", people would stop ascribing everything quirky/buggy about Minecraft Java to the Java programming language.
This, java isn't the issue it's Mojangs horrible developers. Although after 1.14 it's been getting better.
This is gonna age like milk
I hope not
Inb4 Java gets discontinued in favor of Bedrock.
“Sad mobile noises” :(
Haha, so true. Actually mobile is a lot easier to mod and make skins for than console. I think you can even use your mobile created skins and have them active on your console version of bedrock if I am not mistaken.
You can play Minecraft Java Edition on Android and iOS (iOS requires root I think) fun fact: https://github.com/PojavLauncherTeam/PojavLauncher
I literally have to play Microsoft just to connect to my wife on ps4. I’ve just showed her all the capability Java has, now let’s just say we’re building her a pc.
She will love it. Infinite possibilities on Java.
Microsoft can make mine craft unaccessible to cracked accounts online or offline. That would probably take out a huge chunk of the playerbase.
Its not possible. Modders and game crackers will always have a workaround. Besides, if they ended up going full server side with the game, players will just use the latest client side build and there will always be a mod scene for that version that adds the new content to it.
It will ban your Microsoft account tho
It wouldn't matter if your account got banned. Besides if Microsoft get to the point of banning entire Microsoft wide accounts over a Minecraft game, then consumers have a much larger problem on their hands.
Naive if not Blind to assume that MICROSOFT wouldn't do something like that. plus it does matter because its the same microsoft account i use for so much other stuff
Not so useful for console players though, who will forever be stuck with Bedrock edition.
So unfortunately true. I do miss playing on my Xbox One X back when update Aquatic was released. Playing on a console has a certain feel to it, but once you dive into Java there is no turning back.
just wait, till they force microsoft accounts to be used in the game itself, then there will be nothing that we can do
Idk. I was thinking if Microsoft removed the ability to play older versions of the game or if they modified the eula such that mods can only be downloaded from Microsoft sites, then they could cripple the game.
Actually, Microsoft could always remove the ability to backtrack to previous version of the game to give it some good old bedrock parity. Like 1.12.2? Too bad, you’re stuck on the latest version. I’m also sure there’s a way for them to track which clients you’re using, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d find a way to ban you for using Forge or Fabric for example, assuming they can’t just remove the ability to add modded clients in general.
It’s iffy on banning/removing modded client compatibility, but I could definitely see them taking away the ability to play on older versions as a way to cripple the community and push micotransactions. It’s clear they simply don’t care about the community since they’re still forcing this stupid update.
NOTE: These are speculations, not definite facts. For all I know this may never happen. But with Microsoft in the picture, I’m prepared for the worst.
Absolutely true, Microsoft can totally cripple the officially licenced, officially updated versions of the game.
But they will NEVER be able to stop people from playing pirated versions of the game if they did decide to go nuclear with their control.
To be fair I think Java will be allowed to exist for a long while because Bedrock is where they have forced Mojang to implement their cash shops, which is where they are making most of their money. Also with new IPs coming out like Dungeons, and Legends, Microsoft will be happy enough with the money made from those, to allow mojang to continue supporting Java. The amount of content creators that use Java alone are enough to advertise the game. I honestly dont think they will fully screw over Java, but I can see them slowly supporting it less over the years, and implementing more data collection and monitoring features.
Yeah, piracy is Java Edition’s biggest strength in the battle against Big Microsoft. I don’t normally condone it unless it’s for obtaining abandonware, but Microsoft is definitely begging for the game to be pirated with the way they’re acting right now.
I think you’re right that Microsoft will likely opt for making Java’s death slow and painful, as that’ll net them with much less outrage than what we’re getting now.
Isn't mojang gonna ban people from playing online? Like I'm not sure how connecting to servers works but couldn't that kind of ruin it?
Don't understimate a companies wish to ruin what was once great.
