Context matters. You could be walking home alone at night, maybe a bad neighborhood, and you saw someone who just happened to be black guy. Understandable to walk away from a potentially dangerous situation.

I avoid people based on characteristics that could aid them in abusing me. Manipulative people, cops, people in higher positions in society, politicians.
If I am alone with another black person at night and its hard to see them, contrary to a white person on the other side being easy to spot and very noticeable, I'll switch to another street temporarily.
Their race isn't the problem, it's just that they can blend easier so if they decided to attack me, it would be harder for me to defend myself.

I agree as well with you that mass shootings are a white male problem, and why I think this is the case is because I think they feel almost left out of society and almost resented by it. I am open to conversating about this. But why specifically a white male problem? while yes, straight white men often get made fun of in situations that don't warrant it, they aren't as marginalized or rejected in the open world.

No doubt that minorities get attacked all the time, but when they are, they are rightfully defended by the media and institutions. But when a straight white male gets attacked, specially if the attack comes from a minority, then people look the other way or even cheer on for the agresor.
