This is certainly a joke about redditors written by redditors.

We are a contiguous people.

The funny thing is it’s long folded back on itself at this point. The vast majority of people here have hated him (and slightly less entertainingly all of the cool tech he is connected to) for years.

Its totally possible to hate the Muskrat for all the dumb bullshit he's said and done, yet people these days have to make up dumbass reasons to

This is stupid lol, he bought successful companies when they were already successful and bought the founder title. He hasn’t done any actual work with the exception of throwing money at things since PayPal.

[deleted]

He formed 1 fucking company. Tesla upscaled its cars because he gave them money. There's nothing special about him. Tesla also recalls over half the cars it's ever produced. Its cars dont fucking work. Its stock is only high because of the cult of personality. I am pretty sure he bought the title founder with spacex. You are so fucking reddit brain it's unimagineable

[deleted]

Neuralink killed almost all of the monkeys they did trials on lmfao

& the only think Musk has done at Tesla is violate labor laws and make cars that lock you in while they’re on fire

How does his dick taste

Agreed on all fronts.

I don’t get it. What is the emperor bit about?

This was from a video made in 2018 about Joshua Norton, the first kind of almost technically, emperor of the United States. Very funny story. The Elon Musk thing was a one-off joke.

Everyone on Reddit is a fucking idiot. Including me.

Everyone ~~on Reddi~~t is a fucking idiot. Including me.

Fuckin love me some Sam onella

God I miss him

everything reminds me of him

Did he stop putting out videos?

Yeah it's been like 2 years

he put it on hold until he finishes his degree, should be soon (with a grain of cope)

Its okay jake farm is doing alright. He's not sam but close enough.

Would it be considered racist if I told elon to go back to Africa?

Oh my god, Karen, you can’t just ask people why they’re white.

How can you talk to African Americans like that?

Yes because if there's one thing reddit hates it's...

Criticizing Elon Musk?

It's an older video, the tide definitely changed on how people see him

Depends on where you are. I got downvoted severely, I think over on shower thoughts, for calling Elon out.

They were really eager to talk about how much he's done for the world. 🙄

It's flipped used to be Conservative leaning people didn't like him cause ecars = girly and he talked about climate change. Now it's pretty much the opposite due to his edgelord "woke bad, free speech good" and union busting shenanigans.

So you still get people defending him, it's just who's defending him has changed.

I think a lot of people take apathy regarding Musk as somehow being pro musk. I don't think he's evil, I don't think he's great, i really don't give a shit about celebrity culture and giving people like musk tons of attention (negative and positive) is just more cultural obsession with celebrities. I think anyone who chooses to spend their free time talking about the dude all the time are just annoying.

I used to defend him. If you look back on early in-depth interviews where journalists toured SpaceX, it's clear he was a really hands-on guy that was heavily involved in the engineering side of the company, he didn't just fund it. So he deserved a lot of credit for that.

Then he started saying asshole things. Then more asshole things. Then unbelievably out-of-touch asshole things. Then he started to buy Twitter to "restore free speech'. And it's like...for fuck's sake Elon, why did you have to be a reprehensible human being? You can't just stick to making really cool cars and rockets? Christ.

This exactly. Tesla and SpaceX are both net positives for humanity. I get he didn't invent Tesla but he certainly moved the ball forward, and had a lot of charisma on the subject of EV and Battery storage which I honestly believe we'd be at least 10 years further back without him. But jesus shut the fuck up about social issues.

I always find the "he didn't invent Tesla" thing downright stupid. No one "invented" Tesla, Tesla isn't an invention, its a car company making cars that didn't require any breakthrough technology or invention to create. Elon joined/co-founded/whatever Tesla at such an early stage that everything that has made Tesla what it is today happened under his leadership. (And that doesn't entitle him to all the credit, I'm sure many people contributed meaningfully to Tesla's success).

But yeah, Elon needs to learn to shut the hell up. Stream of consciousness tweets from anyone is a recipe for a bad time, and Elon has some really bad takes.

Just to be clear, those weren't early interviews

Just to be clear, you do not actually possess the ability to read minds over the internet.

I went looking for the article I'm talking about, which was a print article, not a video...but I can't remember when exactly it was (well before the first successful landing though) when the author was struck with just how in-the-weeds Elon was on the engineering specifics of the rockets, not just the business side. I don't really have any way to prove it to you since I can't find it, but you really shouldn't just put videos in my mouth.

He's definitely gotten closer to a political status. The good stuff he does cannot be seen as good by some anymore. The bad stuff he does cannot be seen as bad by some anymore.

Nope it's majority hate for sure. It's like fashion... First people hate Bill Gates for Microsoft, then they love him because he has a foundation that does good, then people hate him because he wants to inject people with microchips and then people defend him because he wants to prevent pandemics, then people hate him because he breaks up with his wife and for some reason he was on Jeffrey Epsteins island. I lost track, so people hate him or love him now? Sorry we were taking about Elon Musk. Why do people care so much? It's like they have personal issues and want to look up to or blame somebody that is successful.

First people hate Bill Gates for Microsoft, then they love him because he has a foundation that does good

To be fair the majority of the old Gates Hate was because back in the 90's and 80's he was one of those "I made all this money why would I ever give it away? I deserve this for working hard" billionaires.

Old age mellowed him out though and he became one of the good rich guys who was just like "Well... if I have the money to nearly entirely eradicate one of the deadliest diseases in history... why not do that instead of swimming in my money vault?"

Gates blocked the covid vaccine IP from being given away for free because using the resources of people who have excess to save poor people from dying "sets a bad precedent".

But yeah people hate him because he divorced his wife...

Seems like most of the dickriding happens on Twitter now.

Wait did Sal actually do a new video?

No this is old I'm afraid :(

Damn. I miss his content.

We all do bud. We all do.

I just want Sam to upload one last video before this rotten world spontaneously combusts under its own vitriol.

TIL that Redditors like Elon Musk. The stereotype is backwards in this video.

That was the case way back when this animation was made

Full video is from 2018 so yes the stereotype has flipped since then. Elon is a knob but I thought this was funny so I posted the isolated clip.
