Ah yes, the brahmin force.

You mean the Battle Cattle?

The Mootants.

Strong dad joke game

Teenage mutant ninja cows

You win. Everybody go home.

They’ve got the Rad Cow Disease.

Best friend Tabitha knows what's up!

The Bovine Battalion.

The Cattle Bruisers

Fuck Caesar’s legion

We may be cows, but we aren't cowards!

A yes the brahmin force. The most technically advanced force on the planet. Hoo raw.

I think you mean "mooraw!"

Damnit I was 3 hours too late!

You're still a Moo-rine.

MOO-RAH!

I think you mean "moo urns!"

Were you saying moo, or moourns?

Their motto is "Two heads are better than one".

Good defense against headshots.

Your God damn right

Fierce force to say the least! Wherever they go it’s always “udder” destruction

Fear the battle cattle

Every time i approached caravan my game crashed. So Brahmin got some power.

Battle Cattle! Fear the Battle Cattle!

You can say about this war what you want, but the UA defendes have kept an unbreakable humor.

Imagien what the invaderZ think, not only be defeated by the defendes but they still joke around.

Imagine getting destroyed on the battlefield and then obliterated in the meme war too...

The orcs can't even bring the bantz...

The ~~blitz~~ bantz.

International conflict would be better this way. Fuck war.

Bring back breakdance battles.

Suddenly, the role of circus has switched

Other than ammunition and soldiers, morale is one of the most important things an army can have.

I am amazed that Ukrainian subredit are generally in high spirit and humor, while Russians are depressed.

Nobody is more brutal!

Well, that's what orcs get for putting no points into Explosives, Repair, Sneak, Science, or Survival.

Ukraine even at an official level has a sense of humor

When Zelensky took office he mandated a national sense of humor into law, mostly as an homage to his days as a comedian.

Seems legit

In times like these, you better have a sense of humor or you'd lose yourself to the madness far too quickly.

It's very strict.

Laugh. Now

Ted Cruz.

Please Laugh

Ted Cruz does a little trolling... microwaves fish in the breakroom.

Disobeying that law carries a maximum sentence of death. Thousands of humourless Russian soldiers faced the ultimate penalty.

It's just a prank bro

*Sound of Bayraktar strike punctuates sentence.*

Aannnddd the song is back in my head

Death by firing squad, but the firing squad has those guns that pop out a flag that says "Bang"

"WELCOME TO UKRAINE, BITCH!"

Happiness is mandatory, comrades.

Their UN ambassador is sassy and sarcastic as hell. Despite the circumstances, he still kept joking.

Territorial defencd is pretty loosely controlled to be honest.

My feel was it was a bunch of decentralized structures, like chapters or whatever, just kind of properly trained and tasked with protecting their own little area from incursion using irregular tactics.

it is beautiful to see.

As someone who loves STALKER and Fallout, I love this!

Moo! Moo, I say!

From memory that's from Fallout 2? That game had a lot of bizarre humour

Fallout 1&2 were the real fallout games not the FPS with RPG elements that Bethesda made. I'll give New Vegas a plus but it was made by Obsidian who had some of the original Interplay people minus the Tim Cain,Leonard Boyarksy and Jason Anderson. The last 3 made Fallout 1.

NV kept the same spirit of 1/2 at least, and it felt like a genuine part of the 1/2 universe.

3/4/76 just feels like... a completely different universe where the bombs fell 2 years ago, not 200. And that makes sense considering Bethesda was going to make their own post-apoc setting before they bought Fallout.

76 at least makes the most sense of the Bethesda ones, with it being set only 25 years after the bombs, the area having dealt with particularly nasty disease spreading mutants, and even after all that there's a pretty sizable freshly-built settlement. Not like 3/4 where people have supposedly been living in the area for a couple hundred years but still live in piles of garbage.

Fallout 3 shouldn’t be in this group.

I enjoyed 3. Honestly, 4 as well, even though it was just "Far Cry: Apocalypse."

But if you play Fallout 2, then jump to Fallout 3, you're to feel like these games aren't even in the same universe.

Again, 3 was great, but they really fucked up the lore big time and it's only gotten worse with each iteration.

Well considering 3 and NV are similar, I don’t get your grouping here. NV has more parties to play and a better story but the game feels incomplete.

Fallout 1 is probably my favourite

I love Fallout 3 so much, I just rebought the GOTY version from Steam (again... lost the DVDs) and am playing it again. With mods. Fallout 4 was great with Sim Settlements, until Sim Settlements went too far and wanted to do all the work for you. I never used those parts, but I think the extra overhead might be why it caused the modded game to crash all the time.

I enjoyed most of them (skipped 76, it was basically 4 but a quick bootleg, even I can see that.) They are different games though and the fallout name is really just a setting more than any indication of sameness. FO1 is still immaculate at what it does, with those beat up soundscapes and desolate setting.

I don't care if it's not canon, Tactics fucked up the lore less than Bethesda did and I think it's a real Fallout game even if it's ass to play, I didn't think 3 was that bad on release (hated what they did to BoS, bland good guys) but it's unplayable now.

Good God I want that so bad

Stalker takes place in Ukraine right?

Yes, a fictional version of the Chernobyl exclusion zone.

But who cheeki breeky av damkes? The Russians or the Ukranians?

Russian seperatists use the logo of the Spartan faction of the Metro games and books, ukrainians now use fallout.

If someone were to start selling these and donating the money to Ukraine, I would buy at least one.

Yes, very much this

Yes. I'm actively looking for these patches for fundraising.

I want to get out my screen printing equipment and print it on a t shirt.

So, Azov -> Brotherhood of Steel origin (literally, from the steel factory).

This is now canon

Ruzzians = Caesars legion. You know with the raping, slavery, huge numbers, ONE LEADER, and pillaging and all

*Tsar's Legion

same thing. kaiser, caesar, tsar as far as i know is same word(meaning at least) in different languages.

... that's the joke

Literally. The tsar title goes back to Moscow's claim to be "third Rome".

So that's why they got into WW2, didn't like Germany claiming to be the 3rd roman empire?

They're even uniting almost everyone against them despite past differences, just like bringing the NCR, BoS & Enclave remnants together for the Second Battle of Hoover Dam

At least Caesar was clever, not sure what the hell Putin is thinking

Caesar's explanation is pretty cool. Essentially very Marxist/historically materialist, believing that humanity has to go through the same forms of society and production as it historically did in order to get back to modern democracy.

The Soviet Union briefly was more like that when Lenin's plan was to first have a kind market capitalism, the New Economic Policy, which however was abandoned once Stalin took over. Interestingly Putin despises Lenin for bringing too much "western" thought to Russia, and rather wants to restore the post-Lenin USSR.

Which comically fell apart, it's like trying to revive the Russian empire as if the whole revolution didn't happen because how corrupt and inefficient it was.

Caesars Legion didn't commit genocide, Russia is worse than them. They are like the Super Mutants from Fallout 1, who are suspiciously orc like.

If only someone can talk Putin into killing himself like The Master.

Literally every other cunt in the legion explains that they fucking genocide tribes

and they are both fascists

Yeah, I mean as much as I nut for BoS, most of their leaders were at least a little fascist - depends on the exact setting and time since, I think, Lyons was pretty OK, but that was some ooh-rah shit anyway so of course they were.

And Azov is literally the 'fervent nationalists that would like to die for their land' as opposed to the regular army rising to do their duty. The latter is normal people doing what they must, Azov are fulfilling a creepy war fantasy.

[deleted]

I want to believe it is just BoS stans downvoting me and not real life nazi cheerleaders 😆

[deleted]

I don't think anyone opposes pointing out the Azov neo nazi history, if it is done using a past tense.

I actually love this. Like regardless of where the BoS came from, they somehow received the legend of Azovstal and somehow made it out to be part of their stories of origin - like either directly or because they're paying homage to and getting inspiration from it. Seems like something they would do.

Get out of here Stalker

I said come in, don't stand there

Heyyy, marked one!

DEADLY ANOMALIES, DANGEROUS MUTANTS, ANARCHISTS AND BANDITS

Anuuu cheeki breeki iv damke

War, war never changes...

Patrolling Chernobyl almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter

I was waiting for that one.

Lmao, I saw your comment immediately after making a similar one.

I would think it would more likely make you wish for global warming, tbh.

Can somebody turn this into a Logo?? Love to see some original pripyat-inspired patched, ill send one to be made

There are stalker faction patches out there you can buy.. Stalker is a videogame series set in the cnpp and exclusion zone if you weren't aware :)

Yeah I know of those but I want this one

I'd love to buy one.

Saint Javelin enters the room.

Another settlements needs your help! It's called Mariupol. I'll mark it on your map.

There is something cool about pop culture and culture in general that usually unites people in bars and coffee shops and geek events also uniting them in resistance to tyranny.

It’s part of what made Ukraine so relatable and easy to sympathize with for western people. The war feels like an attack on our culture and values on top of the loss of life

The war feels like an attack on our culture and values on top of the loss of life

And that's because it really is. It may sound silly talking about Fallout this way, but it's one of thousands of threads tying together people from Kyiv and Talinn all the way West to Kyoto and Canberra.

From the Kremlin's perspective, this is a grey goo scenario, and we're the goo. And quite proud of it, too.

The war feels like an attack on our culture

And in a very direct way it is. The reason why Russia invaded Ukraine first in 2014 and now in 2022 is because the people decided that they wanted to join the West, rather than continue as a Russian vassal state.

The flag of the Maidan Revolution was the EU one.

This is awesome! God bless him with good health and strength, so he will destroy as many Nazi Russians as possible. Slava Ukraini! 💪❤️🇺🇦

"Another Settlement Needs Your Help"

Stalker fans: BLYATTTTTTTT

Me scrolling the comments looking for a witty Fallout reference that hasn't been used yet, then realizing everyone has beat me too every thing I wanted to say😂

Gives you a weird sense of unity, doesn't it?

I wouldn't even call it weird (I'm in most Fallout subs, so I see it daily)😂

This is what happens when you press gamers into service.

One positive thing I learned from this terrible crisis is that Ukrainians have a great sense of humor

"And to answer your question, do you know what makes you special?"

the ukrainians are winning the internet with such things ♥ love it how modern they are

I mean if the govt wants to raise money for guns all they have to do is open on online shop...

ukraine is rad. parts of it is even rad-ioactive

Ring-a-ding, baby

We are in the weirdest timeline

Ad Victoriam, Ukraine

Holy shit I fucking love it!

ok I want one of those.

i mean blue and yellow are falloutish too....

Supreme Commander Tabitha: BEWARE THE BATTLE CATTLE!!!

Do they greet each other by saying Cheeki Breeki?

No, that would be the ~~Russians~~ bandits.

And then they throw a grenade afterwards.

Watch out for anomalies and Monolith !

Monolith were dicks, the second you get to the Red Forest they were everywhere.

Vrag Monolita! dies

That is incredibly cool.

Take my money! Where can I buy one that supports the TDF/UA?

I just heard Best Friend Tabatha say “Battle Cattle!” in my head

Badass and a sense of humor...............Russian just lay down and play dead you don't stand a chance. You have the playing dead thing, now just lay down.

Their sign is a brahmin but their deadliness is like a cazador.

I love this.

Is that a fallout new Vegas reference? (Joking)

All bound for Moomoo land

We know who the rad roaches are....

Moo, I say.

I like how you can tell the Fallout players from the rest. It's OK, as long as we all support Ukraine in this fight. img

Another alternative would be a blue dog.

2 head Laughing cow :))

https://www.amazon.com/Laughing-Cow-Story-U69-Fortunes/dp/1841450227

Hey a settlement needs your help?

We won't go quietly, the russians can count on that.

Now show me the Russian trench digger's patch.

😁

I want one.

Real talk: where can I buy one?

Reminds me of the poem Two Headed Calf by Laura Gilpin

Tomorrow when the farm boys find this freak of nature, they will wrap his body in newspaper and carry him to the museum.

But tonight he is alive and in the north field with his mother. It is a perfect summer evening: the moon rising over the orchard, the wind in the grass. And as he stares into the sky, there are twice as many stars as usual.

I'm pretty sure its the other way around. Fallout is Pripyat inspired

Radioactive korivka gang :D

The dreaded battle cattle training to hunt mutants!

бича Бойова

would be equivalent to Battle Bovine.

Patrolling thw outskirts od Ukraine makes you wish for a Nuclear Winter

You’d never thing you needed a post apocalyptic, retrofuturistic, wacky western in your life until you sit down and play a post apocalyptic, retrofuturistic, wacky western

Now THATS epic!

nice

Bah, should have been a Stalker patch ..but still nice. (Where My Freedom boys at?)

Not great, not terrible.

Kinda ominous though.

Pripyat is (was?) the city next to Chornobyl, and has been abandoned since the accident, it's more a reference to history than anything else.

It's not ominous if it's a reference to something that already happened...

One can't know everything, I didn't check where Pripyat is, I thought it was in relation with the current context.

Why would you weigh in on something without knowing what it was?

Dude, that's 99.999% of the internet.

I know this because I'm not a statistician.

Maybe the comment wasn't very serious and meant for endless bickering?

BTW there's no explanation in the post so low effort shouldn't complain to be met with low effort.

...Is "Pripyat Territorial Defence Forces" not enough of an explanation?

[deleted]

Well, I stated it's Fallout inspired (two-headed cows in Fallout games called Brahmin https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Brahmin )

I have zero idea why I read Stalker. Something is wrong with my mind so sorry.

Oh no worries :)

It is very embarrassing, I even looked for Stalker patches on Google, this is how much I saw Stalker. In my defence I haven't eaten. You are great your post is interesting and sorry again! :)

Google translate tells me this means:

“The Three Forces Are Drunk”

I assume their division or whatever is #3

CORRECT IS: Forces of Territorial Defense of Pripjat.

LOL, that is a huge difference! Thanks for the real one 😁

https://imgur.com/a/By6nmg6

I like the other one better

Neat! Are we (the US) going to annex Canada next or do we wait for Alaska to fall first? I say we preemptively annex Canada, just because.🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Brahmin

[deleted]

well it’s the most famous game for this so i guess this could count as they took the idea from fallout

[removed]

Username checks out lol.

[removed]

The Wolfsangel or crampon is a heraldic sign that has been used all over Europe for centuries.

Source or it didn't happen. It's just too good.

That is fair stoating indeed.

Good hunting stalkers

I’m really surprised it’s not S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Devin Nunes Brigade?

[deleted]

It is, in fact, one cow with 2 heads.

Surprised it’s not STALKER themed tbh

EPIC!!!

Brahmins ftw! 🤠🐄

Bahah that’s messed up

Ok, so where can i buy one?

Patrolling the Chernobyl wasteland makes me wish for a nuclear winter

Slavs in general love Post apo games. Fallout(2 is beloved out there.

seems perfectly relevant to me

So no loners ?

Ukrainians have got to be some of the most likely people this planet had ever produced. Every day I find out they did something else cool af

Would be funny, if there was a Tunnel-Snake Company.

Don't tell India

Moo!

THE BEAST OF PRIPYAT

And here I am thinking S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inspired badges were a missed opportunity. Oh well.

do they come from chernobyl?

Yes. Pripyat is the town next door where Chernobyl workers used to live.

Now, they need to raise Deathclaws in the Red Forest and sic them on the Ruzzians!

Get these Bovine Badasses some Nuka Cola!

"Patrolling the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone makes you wish for a nuclear winter"

I know Reddit isn't a fan of critical thinking but how do you know if it's actually inspired from Fallout and not just a coincidence?

Bloodsucker or Chimera from Stalker franchise woulda been cooler but still, pretty cool

Personally I LOVE the fact that so many Fallout inspired badges are being used in Ukraine. Fallout to me has always represent the total stupidity of War and that just sums up this War completely.

Where are the other badges from fallout? Very cool

Fallout, fun to visit, don't want my world closer to that grim world....

id buy a unit t-shirt,

🤣🤣🤣 very impressive 👌

If Fallout 5 doesn't have a Ukrainian Freedom faction I can join, I don't want it!

stalker irl

They should change it to a gaint rad scorpion after showing their tough skin and lethal sting...

Slava ukraini 🇺🇦

Would be funny if this went down in heraldry history and immortalized fallout in the pages of history

Not Fallout, these guys are from Chernobyl.

I want one!

I keep waiting for the NCR flag to turn up w/a foreign unit

I need this patch!

Damn, need this.

Oh no! Pripyat Farm's Red Forest Milk! I HATE 2% radioactivity in my milk, but it is super-ultra-pasteurized - guaranteed to not sour for a YEAR! ☢️ What's this cute sticker on the carton? Some kind of 3-car ferris wheel. 😎

Pssst.

Hey you.

You want to buy wind brahmin?

Moo, Moo i say.

They should have made Stalker inspired badges. Would have been way more authentic since Stalker series is literally set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

But this one is cool too.

Ah yes, the 101st Brahmin company
