Dudes got nearly 9k subscribers and his videos average between 3k-6k views. Not massive but I wouldn't say it's surprising that he has regular posting and high quality.
What's interesting is the ultra-niche content!
It is kinda what this sub is for at the end of the day, channels overlooked for being ultra niche and more than a sprinkling of dreamlike bullshit.
I always thought of this sub as a place to post old videos that have hardly any views, but I'm glad I got to see this video so to hell with the rules. It's got the spirit.
I was within the rules with September and under 4k views I will have you know.
There is a ton of over produced, highly informative, and under viewed content on YouTube.
It’s the shit that floats to the top.

Use "Don't recommend channel" and "Not interested" in the context menu as much as possible. Never click on overly clickbaity titles/thumbnails or videos you're not genuinely interested in, or you get shafted by the algorithm. It loves immediately assuming you want an endless stream of garbage content if you're unlucky enough to misclick on something, presumably because the average Youtube troglodyte will watch anything with a brightly colored thumbnail.
You click on one Elden Ring video to see some gameplay... and now your algorithm thinks it's your favorite game of all time.
It’s hot right now , so it’s heavily weighted. This guy, YouTube assumes it’s a one-off since it’s niche.
Behold. This man has 80k subs and makes content worthy of 1M subs, so you could say he's hideously underrated; but i was watching him when it was the same thing with 600 subs, which was the most insane thing i'd ever seen on YouTube.
Especially re: food channels, a lot of great cooking content that never gets seen. Then there are the channels that really hit it out the park and break a million views on a video, get a ton of new subscribers, and then consistently put out videos that only get a few thousand views each. The algorithm is fickle
it really seems like people are allergic to effort sometimes

Thanks for letting me know about this thread.
Thanks DIYT! I don't think I'd have half the viewership if it wasn't for a couple critical posts on here over the past couple years.
Man, what a cool find. Subscribed! I’m sure most of your viewers are fellow fans of canned fish and other seafoods, but I personally don’t like seafood and canned fish is especially something I wouldn’t like. I find your content entertaining nonetheless because it’s so fascinating to watch someone have such different tastebuds and enjoy what they’re eating. Love the vibe and production quality overall.
If you like that kinda stuff give brutalmoose a watch. one of my favorite video editors
TIL inserting two clips from movies = production value.
This reminds me of Brutalfoods' frozen tv dinner reviews.
That was a fun watch! I thought I'd cut out after 20 seconds but nope, made it to the end. Very entertaining.
I wonder if he means he ordered from Dan at Rainbow Tomatoes Garden? I have been browsing and can't wait to make my first order, he's great!

This is the correct comment. There's more than dozens of us!
Great sub and has actually been great for getting me to eat more canned fish which has been helpful for me the last while, trying to eat healthy while living in a hotel for 3 weeks a month.
I totally just x-posted it. One of my favorite subs (and favorite snacks!)
Never tried sardines before. Feel like I may be missing out on something.
Its actually pretty good. I was raised on canned sardines and similar gas station food.
No one I know eats canned sardines, but they never seem to be hard to find.
So someone must be.
Loving the Wii shop channel music lmao
I think I found this guy from this sub awhile back. Still nervous about trying canned sardines but he's been fun to watch over the years.
I just had them for the first time recently and bought more to give it a second try. I'd have some other shit to go with them. This guy is a savage in my eyes eating it like he does but that's from a first timer's eyes. Some toasted fancy bread, olives, maybe something like pickled veggies would go nicely. I don't mind it with some hot sauce too but I'd eat cereal in hot sauce... /s. It's like an oily, saltier tuna? Just not as dense. I think it's prepared in a higher quality way. Don't let the canned fish thing mess with you as much as it did me. It's definitely an acquired taste thing. It'll grow on me as I keep forcing myself to eat it. I want to like sardines and the process isn't as bad as it could be!
My favorite way to consume them is mashing them with some lime juice, thinly sliced onions, chopped parsley and a bit of black pepper, then spreading it on a piece of whole wheat bread. It also goes very well with pasta, prepared with a spicy tomato sauce.
You shouldn't be nervous. They are not strong-tasting. They are oily (if you buy them in oil rather than water), savory, and a little smoky.
There are a bunch of accounts online of people trying them and being kind of surprised.
I'm subbed to and Matt Carlson. Crazy seeing something I'm familiar with on this sub.
I love this guy. Got me into sardines and oysters
This guy is definitely heading in a Jeff Goldblum-y direction and I love it
Sardines are superb. And they can be vintage. They get better after years. So cans from 5 years ago are rarer and more expensive. It's also a great fish for your health.
to anyone reading this, come join us at /r/cannedsardines if you are looking to get into these beautiful, nutritious fish!
Also recommend SlowJabroni for the same style of videos, but Matt is the OG
I like how he just housed all of the sardines in one sitting.
And casually sipped the lobster oil too!
Great screen presence. I also love sardines. Subscribed.
He seems like a pleasant guy
He's like a spiritual successor to the watermelon eating tutorial guy
SlowJabroni has some similar content if you're into this sardine thing.
MY MAN
I want those chopsticks he has
Lol nice, very pleasant vibe/niche in the vein of Steve1989MREInfo
Not into sardines but I love how he takes the time to describe the package and the taste. I truly enjoy the background music. A very interesting discovery :) tysm for posting this.
Whys the music so eerie?
From sardine man featuring expensive synths in the background, it is because it is made by a man who reviews sardines on the internet.
the canned Fish Files...
BrutalMoose if he was an university student.
Great find! Lol
I love sardines that are, fall-a-partie. I like to pull the meat away from the spine so the sardine looks like a fish from a Tom & Jerry cartoon.
What are we even doing here? !!!!!
Dude sounds like he's about fuck it.
As much as I enjoyed this, it annoyed me that he spilled oil from his fingers on the desk.
Discovered this guy a year or two ago when I was trying to find good sardines. Good shit.
Me too. I still haven't bothered to try sardines, but I watch him regularly.
I love sardines. Try them on triscuits. Sometimes the bones in sardines can be a texture issue, but with a triscuits, you can’t tell. Also, try boneless, skinless sardines. They are like the beginner kit.
Am I a newb if I just stick to tiny tots? Those are the perfect size for triscuits imo.
One of my favorite easy lunches is a toasted piece of sourdough bread with mayo and sardines on it. Super good if you can dig the fishy taste. Ill even throw bleu cheese on it sometimes but thats only when my girlfriend is at work because otherwise she can smell it from 2 rooms away.
Sounds like something I should try in the office lunch room
With just a 4 second nuking to amplify things a bit
Ohh fuck yea, and no cover on it so the oil from the sardines spark all around the inside of the microwave
Or maybe on my next Southwest flight …
they're not awful, but not very good either.
Sardines are great. I like the purple tins of smoked sardines from Trader Joes. Add some black pepper, hot sauce, and some of their Ajika Georgian seasoning and eat them on Wasa multigrain crispbread. High in protein and healthy fat, low mecury (unlike scummfodder canned tuna), plus fiber in the crackers. Great meal.
I liked the ones in Harissa or however you spell it
I say I'm a 'fan', but buy ones where the sauce takes most of their fishiness away (Brunswick does a Louisiana hot sauce variety). Mostly in it for the goodness I spose.
Worth it for the cheap protein alone. If you throw them in a hot pan with melted butter and garlic they break down to practically nothing, and the resulting flavored butter is amazing on pasta.
