I think it's complicated bcs shortly after this game Konami parted ways with the director and writer of the game, [forgot first name] Kojima.
Kojima founded his own company though and was the one who produced and wrote Death Stranding.
I think you mean Hideo Kojima, and yeah, taken that into consideration a sequel is even less likely.
Doesn’t Konami still have rights over MGS so even if kojima wanted to he couldn’t make a sequel? The thought of a sequel sounds nice because I just started playing it because of the resurgence of memes and it was 5 dollars on sale (last boss I beat was sundowner)

Kojima wasn't involved with Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge (the bastard son of the franchise), Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, or Metal Gear Survive.

Best case scenario is kojima could somehow get the rights to it but I doubt Konami would sell it in the first place, plus that would require a lot of money. And kojima has probably moved on from metal gear solid and doesn’t plan on doing anything with it
