First, if you didn't know, most NFT's are bought with ethereum, but the second part is that verifying the transaction and creating a block in the blockchain uses horrendous amounts of power.
first part makes sense, but the second part how does that take lots of power?
eth uses proof of work which is where you spend a metric shit ton of energy to make it harder to print coins therefore making the coins more valuable. what actually happens is it costs the equivalent of 140,000 visa transactions to trade what is fundamentally equivalent to fortnite vbucks resulting in a carbon footprint comparable to entire countries
