Take lots of cash made illegally. Convert it to crypto that is untraceable. Spend crypto buying and selling online artwork that is also untraceable. Convert crypto to cash with no paper trail. Profit.

There is a complete paper trail. For instance you can look at the guy who owns the alex.eth address and see exactly what tokens he owns and what he's exchanged them for.

You can send money to an unknown source that is actually yourself and can show that it has been spent (easy). You then use crypto tumblers etc to attempt to hide the source of that money and make it come back to you as if it came from a legit source (probably much easier said than done).
Note: I actually think NFTs are useful and incredible tech that is just in its infancy, just explaining how they may be involved in laundering.

You then buy the NFTs back from yourself at a lower price than you paid for from a different wallet
Your NFTs are now a โlossโ and they offset the profits you claim on your tax return
You now just claimed a bunch of losses and still own your NFTs and profit

I never understood the concept of NFTs, but this seems to explain it nicely. This was always my question when someone said only one person can have the image at a time: what's to protect their drawings from being screenshot? It always seemed dumb.
Thereโs nothing stopping them from snagging a screenshot. In theory, nfts could be worth something and usable for creative art collaborations and be actually functional, but that will probably be unrecognizable to how nfts work now.
Itโs not the image. The image is just a visual representation of the block chain number or certificate. I think thatโs the rarity part.
For someone who doesn't understand programming that well, what's the purpose? To know you have a 100% unique image?
I think itโs like a thing to flex and itโs value isnโt determined by other coins/FIAT going up or down- just on the value that people place on your NFT alone.

Like they are very comfortable to charge a whole ETH for a stupid picture even though that's thousands of dollars and it fluctuates wildly over the years. Taxes are a bitch too. What if you buy an NFT for 1 ETH and sell it for 1 ETH. That's no profit in ETH, but you pay taxes when buying it and when selling it, depending on how much ETH has changed in price both times.

Peercoin, and all the proof of stake coins that followed. Peercoin invented a green protocol a few years after Bitcoin and has been around for 9 years. It functions just fine on a small fraction of the power consumption and hard drive space.
Not every crypto is farming, actually most have moved away from that traditional method. Ethereum is also moving away, it just takes time. In about 6 months the environment argument will probably be redundant, itโs quite misleading and never well made.
The terms are proof of work (mining) and proof of stake (staking) if you want to learn more yourself.
Bitcoin alone is still using more power than many countries. I don't see the problem going away in 6 years let alone 6 months.
The entire crypto currency space accounts for .09% of global emissions. The reason BTC uses so much is because it used POW. When ETH switches to POS, it will no longer use excessive energy. Thatโs slated for early next year. Once that happens NFTs will create 0 emissions. 6 months is a long target. Itโll be sooner.

It stands for Non-Fungible Token, and it's basically a picture that you pay an absurd amount of money in crypto currency for and there's technically only one of each on the Blockchain. This entire idea is pointless thanks to the screenshot button, and it makes NFT artists salty
