fuck it it doesn't even need to have all that demon king bullshit, just have the guy get reencarnated as the moss collector and go about making friends with other moss collectors while figuring out what the fuck is going on and why are they collecting moss
Everything I have noticed: They live in underground caves, moss seems to be their only or main source of food, the caves they live in either has clay rich soil or they have found large deposits of clay, they can forge metals, they are "intelligent" animals, and they have a ways of getting wood, rope, and glass.
