Try buying a house or a car or any big life purchase without credit. You can regain bad credit give it time it time if you actively are using your credit and working towards it, which will eventually let you make a life changing purchase, if you choose to never use credit, you will never have that option
I won’t deny, getting a credit card and never carrying a balance can be a good way to establish some credit, but credit is not a golden ticket to getting a mortgage.
Having good credit will give you a better rate, more options, and will make the process easier, but is not absolute necessary.
Many major banks don’t offer it, but manual underwriting is extremely common in small community banks and credit unions.
I highly recommend you schedule a meeting will an agent at one of these financial institutions and discuss your options with them if you are in this situation.

Any credit is better than no credit. Uncle never established any type of credit, so by the time he wanted to buy a house they would not let him because he didn’t have a credit.
