The only issue with that could be that, when payment is based off of the amount of work, everything would need to be tracked for everyone, at any time, any day. And what do you base it on is another question. If I were to work in a restaurant, do you measure how hard I work by how many dishes I complete, the complexity of the dishes, the quality of the food or all at the same time?
This was a problem at my past place. We are paid per hour but still tracked for numbers even though samples and number of tests vary, we're talking nice sand to hard ass clay, with from 2 tests or 12. And the morning shift has it easy because big clients with repetitive tests some in afternoon, so they get good numbers with little effort. How can I be consistent when the work is not? Encouraged picking and scapegoating and boss didn't even talk to those who were called We're doing basically factory labor in a lab when most of us have masters degrees.

Honestly I live in Canada and I don't know any women that are making less than men (in the same job obviously) There's only 2 male staff members on my team of 24 at work and we all make the same except for the manager who makes more because she doesn't make any tips like the rest of us.

In most other developed countries both parents get maternity leave. And this isnāt necessarily true at all. I know many women who do their job efficiently and effectively, more so than many men. A family member of mine (F) was director of safety for, to put it simply āmanufacturing plantsā and was much more qualified and consistent and still severely underpaid compared to her male counterparts and she never took maternity leave as her children were born long before that job.

You are not controlling for any factors when using the wage gap. This would never fly in a scientific study. You need controlled variables: same position, same hours, same length of time at work, etc. Independent (manipulated) variable is men vs women. Depedant (measured) varible is amount of pay. A good sample size is important as well.
Asian Indians make the most money out of any race. Does it mean they have an advantage? Not necessarily. And that Asian Indian stat is for all jobs, not comparing same positions.
Think about it. If men were paid more for the same positions, why wouldn't an employer just hire women to reduce costs associated with running a businees? Everyone knows profits over everything else in capitalism.

The pay gap has its because of the reasons feminists push for but the fact that most women who have children takes time off it makes sense that on average women work less hours. I think I saw an article that mentioned that the women who worked the dames hours and didnāt go and have children got paid the same if not more. If you wanted to fix the pay gap the solution is putting an equal parental load on both parents. But I was still surprised that most people didnāt take this into account.

the studies on the paygap always take salaries from different jobs and crank out an average. there isn't a paygap between men and women in the same job, there is a paygap between people on seperate jobs.
if the average female job was a waiter, or a valet, or something along those lines. and the average make job was a construction worker, trucker, carpenter, etc. there will be a pay difference on average because manual labor jobs often pay more.
I don't mean this to be rude to the ladies, but manual labor jobs are often 80%+ male workforce
