yeah watched the trailer and i thought it would be a intresting documentary about gender but halfway through the trailer i realized it wasn't.
What was it abuot then?
It is kind of about gender, but not really. I went into it thinking it'd be a discussion about what is a woman, and maybe he'd have talks with people versed in philosophy, but mostly it's just interviewing people who disagree with him and framing it as "Wow, these people believe something different than me, crazy, right?". The one time someone makes an effort to explain their point of view he cuts it together and overlaps it with itself so it's completly incoherent.
He never once challenges anyone genuinely by giving his own definition and then having a discussion.
It might be the case that none of the people he approached were willing to have a genuine discussion, but it's so obviously dishonestly edited that I can't say for sure.
And if he couldn't find anyone then he should have tried harder.

Iirc he went to a woman's march and asked what or who is it whose rights you are marching for?
He went to a professor of woman studies or smth like that and asked him to give him a definition of a woman, since he's a professor in the field. Nothing came out of that except strawmanning. At the march he could have cutted out people that give reasonable answers. But at most other interviews there were snippets in, where the people absolutely failed to answer. Even if I assume he made the most vile editing.

They make fools of themselves if you already agree with Walsh. He never makes an attempt to present his own position. I expected there to be an actual discussion, and him looking into why do these people believe a woman is not just an adult human female, and how can that be refuted, but there was nothing like that.
He makes it very clear that women are human beings with xx chromosomes
Disregarding that that is a faulty definition (which he could have discovered, and then improved upon, if he actually talked with people):

You will notice that humans are not defined by having 5 fingers on each hand. If you google "Female definition" or "male definition", you will also notice that sexes are not defined by their chromosomes.
See, if Walsh had approached people with "A human carrying XX gonosomes", then he would have come upon "No they aren't, there are exceptions to that." Maybe then he would have done the minimum amount of effort to refine his worldview, and come upon a better, more robust definition, for example "A human producing large, immobile gametes.".
Exeptions dont break the rule. Men are on average taller than women. Is every man taller than every women? No. But like 90% are. And in this case its over 99.5%
We can condense all of this with " the exception does not define the rule, but proves it". No they aren't, there are exceptions to that proves that point and does not refute it.
I'm honestly interested why you think that Walsh is wrong in his view. I don't bring the topic up, but when it is brought up and I ask why a woman allegedly isn't an adult human female, I only get what Walsh got, or at best the argument that there are exceptions - yes, you say it yourself, exceptions. But at the same time as you use this biological novelty to prove the point, you originally disagree with me, that a woman is defined by biology.
Literally every person you ask "What is a woman?"

The whole point of the documentary was not to have a discussion, but to show us that these people actually cannot define the word "woman". He asked doctors, he asked a professor of women's studies, he asked people at the women's march; none could answer the question. Documentaries generally aren't about having discussions with people, but rather about documenting something.
